June 18, 2008

Source: Westinghouse

Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the leading LCD manufacturers in the U.S.*, expands its suite of LCD display solutions for the commercial market with the introduction of two wireless HDMI HDTVs. Targeted to the B2B digital signage sector, the new 42" and 47" units can wirelessly receive real-time high quality audio and video content from a gamut of entertainment sources. Westinghouse Digital's complete lineup of professional displays will be showcased at Booth #N7241 at InfoComm 2008, June 18-20 at the Las Convention Center.

John Araki, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Business Unit, at Westinghouse Digital Electronics, states, "Westinghouse Digital is giving professional and commercial groups a major competitive edge with our 42" and 47" wireless HDMI LCD HDTVs. With the integration of CWave® Wireless HDMI, these digital signage HDTVs can now be mounted in locations that do not readily accommodate structured wiring."

The Westinghouse 42" P4210FW and 47" P4710FW feature fully integrated CWave® UWB Wireless HDMI technology for real-time wireless streaming of high quality audio and video content from entertainment source devices such as a DVR, Blu-ray DVD player, live cable or a satellite feed. Video data is encoded using the JPEG2000 video codec, the same codec used by movie theaters for "Digital Cinema," providing a secure high quality HD experience.

The P4210FW and the P4710FW feature a 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest standard available for HD digital video display, and 1080Pure™ for a true 1080p signal out of all HD connectors. The full suite of connectors includes HDMI, DVI, YPbPr, VGA, Composite/ S-Video. The sets offer Westinghouse Digital's proprietary SpineDesign™ construction for easy cable management and convenient media box access, and Autosource™ technology, which automatically turns the TV on and adjusts it when an external source is detected. Additionally, the wireless HDMI LCD HDTVs offer i.e. bi directional RS-232C communication; i.e. discrete RS-232 commands; built-in speakers; and a DPMS timer for convenient on/off applications that lower power consumption. For safety proposes, the displays feature Anti-tip Over/Theft Deterrent rings, and Front Panel and Remote Locks for security in public environments.

The P4210FW and the P4710FW will available in Q3 2008 and pricing is TBD.
