Tecom, the developer of the industry-leading
TechPod Multimedia Lectern, is adding a one-touch recording
option, integrating various third-party digital media recorders
with the TechPod. TechPods are now being used with recording
equipment from companies like Sonicfoundry Mediasite, MediaPOINTE
and TVONE in a variety of facilities.
"The
evolution from in-person lectures only to online education
and training requires new solutions, says Aviv Brosilovski,
CEO, Tecom. We have added a digital recording option
to the TechPod to ensure that lectures are available both
live and on demand.
Tecom's TechPod Interactive Lecterns are
renowned for their simple, user-friendly intuitive design
with total AV control in a single, button-based control panel
and interactive screen. Each TechPod comes with its own computer
with a DVD player, VCR, public address audio system, interactive
screen, lighting and projection screen controls, and a new
option, a recording and a live-streaming system.
Tecoms technology allows the TechPod
to have a single point of connection to the digital media
recorder, ensuring simplicity, ease of use, and minimal technical
support and maintenance. The TechPod integrates a switcher
and a scaler to send all input sources into a single XGA line.
The multimedia recording option is ready to go immediately
after initial installation of the unit within the facility,
completely eliminating the need for both a machine with four
inputs and an onsite recording technician to manage the process.
Once the lecturer pushes the record button,
the digital media recorder captures all sources using the
XGA and audio lines, creating a standard or high-definition
digital recording for later access or for immediate live streaming.
The recording can be played in and on various formats including
QuickTime, MPEG-4 players, and personal media players; streaming
can occur up to 5Mbps, 30fps, 1080p.
By ensuring our lecterns work with
the full range of digital media recorders, facilities can
choose the equipment that works best for them continues
Brosilovski. Our development of a fully integrated recording
solution saves both time and money for Tecom customers and
continues our mission to provide the most easy-to-use multimedia
lecterns on the market.
TechPods have rapidly become the lectern-of-choice
for educational institutions, government facilities, hospitals,
corporations, and military installations across the globe.
Lecturers enjoy the ability to go from facility to facility
and be greeted with a simple system designed to remove any
technical barriers with virtually no training time. They simply
turn on the unit and can immediately begin presenting their
material.
"We have always prided ourselves on
being very responsive to feedback from users, ensuring our
technology remains truly plug-and-play. Now, lecturers can
record their presentations for a wide variety of applications
and audiences directly from the TechPod. This is exactly what
Tecom technology is all about," concludes Brosilovski.
Tecom Electronics will be displaying
this technology at InfoComm 2009, to be held June 14-19 at
the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Tecom will
be at booth 4764.
