Sony & You: Where Technology And People Meet - Sony At ISE 2008

December 10, 2007

Source: Sony Pro Video

Sony today revealed its latest professional product and service offerings for HD business solutions to be showcased at ISE (29 – 31 January 2008). Sony will be demonstrating how it is enabling businesses to communicate seamlessly in an increasingly converging world.

Drawing on its High Definition heritage in the broadcast industry, Sony will bring its leading technology to the business community for more effective content creation, management and presentation, as well as digital signage, network video monitoring and videoconferencing. In addition, Sony will demonstrate its portable and high end projectors, including its unique 4K Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD™) Digital Cinema technology.

“When our vision and our customers’ business needs come together, anything is possible,” said David Bush, Director of Marketing, Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “Now in our fourth year of exhibiting at ISE as a platinum sponsor, visitors to our stand will find out how Sony’s High Definition and networked solutions can transform their business, today, tomorrow, and in the future.”

From content acquisition through to display, the following products and solutions will be on display at the show:

Exceptional image clarity through the VPL-FH300L HD business projector

Sony’s first full HD business projector, the new VPL-FH300L will be officially launched in Europe at ISE 2008. This flagship projector boasts an impressive 6000 ANSI lumen and 2K (2048x1080) resolution at an extremely low power consumption. Sony’s 3LCD Bright Era™ technology ensures exceptional image clarity, high contrast and brightness. The high-end VPL-FH300L projector is network capable, boasts a fail-safe 2 lamp system to ensure uninterrupted projection in the event of a lamp faltering and a unique lamp memory system. Various lens options, including wide throw ratio lenses and a unique, round design with hidden cables completes the picture, making the VPL-FH300L an ideal projector for larger boardrooms and auditoriums as well as demanding high-end applications.

Durable signage with GXD-L52H1, Sony’s first Full HD Public Display

The event will also be an opportunity to see Sony’s new 52”, semi-outdoor LCD Digital Signage screen with native Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Specially designed for business use, the GXD-L52H1 offers excellent durability and longevity due to its dust-resistant, innovative heat management system which does not require ventilation holes. The screen has the same life expectancy when mounted in landscape and portrait position. It is suitable for placement in reach of the public without an additional casing thanks to its replaceable protective glass screen. The GXD-L52H1 is appropriate for almost any location and targeted at, amongst others, the retail, transport and bar / club environments. With an optional HDSDI board the screen is also suitable for the broadcast environment.

Entry level digital signage

Far from a one-size-fits-all approach, Sony Digital Signage is designed to fulfil multiple business needs. Sony's entry-level Ziris Lite™ solution equips customers with whatever mix of video, still images and sound needed, via user-friendly software linked to single or multiple flatscreen displays. With Ziris Lite™, customers can realise the power of Digital Signage without needing any specialist skills. Reassuringly simple to set up and use, it’s highly cost-effective and fully scaleable to grow with customer needs.

Revolutionary applications for remote and virtual communications

Sony will demonstrate how its LCD screens and HD Video Communication PCS-HG90 system, which facilitates high-definition 3D image projection, is opening new possibilities for Telepresence meetings and delivering unparalleled realism and increased market accessibility to video conferencing applications.

Sony will show how it has brought together the two worlds of videoconferencing and IP monitoring with its integrated visual communications offering, which bridges the two pillars of its IPELA™ range; IPC (IP Conferencing) and IPM (IP Monitoring). From live connections in an IP conference direct to an assembly line, house for sale or natural disaster zone, participants can experience interaction like never before by simply ‘calling’ an IP camera from a videoconference system.
