SMART reduces price of wide-format interactive whiteboard

SMART Technologies announces a 10 percent price reduction for North American educators on its 94" (238.8 cm) SMART Board™ 690 interactive whiteboard. The lower price will help more educators integrate wide-format boards into their total classroom solution. The 690 was launched in June 2006 and offers a 16:9 aspect ratio and 33 percent more active working surface than SMART's most popular 680 model. As SMART's largest board, the 690 can be seen more easily in large classrooms and auditoriums, and can accommodate complex equations and concepts easily.

The 690 is part of SMART's growing family of interactive whiteboards, which currently comprises two wide-format boards (more than any other interactive whiteboard manufacturer) that offer a 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratio. Like all SMART Board interactive whiteboards, the 690 comes with feature-rich Notebook™ collaborative learning software, the core application for the creation and delivery of interactive lessons. Both wide-format models offer the same functionality and aesthetics as all models in the award-winning 600 series.

The SMART Board 690 interactive whiteboard is available at a suggested list price of US$2,999 and an education price of US$1,899. School officials, administrators and teachers who are interested in purchasing this SMART product should contact their local authorized SMART reseller. SMART Board 600 series interactive whiteboards include a two-year limited warranty that can be extended to five years upon product registration.
