Broadcast Pix will showcase several
products during InfoComm 09, which runs June 17-19 in Orlando,
Fla. (Booth 4673).
New to the show are the 3G Switcher Frame, which is an upgrade
for its Slate G Series of live video production systems,
plus Fluent workflow software, a traditional control
panel for Slate 100 users, and a portable production unit
that harnesses the power of Broadcast Pix.

The new 3G Switcher Frame creates the industrys first
3G integrated production system and helps future-proof Broadcast
Pix systems with the emerging 1080p standard already found
in TV sets, routers, monitors, computers, projectors, and
many emerging cameras.
It is native 3Gbps 1080p/60 and provides simultaneous multi-definition
SDI I/O for 1080p, 1080i, 720p and standard definition, as
well as DVI. Plus, it handles format and aspect ratio conversion,
DVE picture-in-picture, and graphics internally with an unprecedented
constant delay of 33ms (patent pending), making the 3G Switcher
Frame upgrade ideal for the most demanding live events, as
well as television, Internet and Blu-ray productions.
The AV industry is rapidly adopting 1080p, and Broadcast
Pix is making 1080p production affordable, said Broadcast
Pix President Ken Swanton. Our new 3G Switcher Frame
will enable Broadcast Pix customers to gracefully and economically
upgrade when they are ready, and enjoy superior multi-definition
productions using all of todays HD and SD standards.
Investing in a Broadcast Pix system means investing in the
future.
Fluent exploits the systems unique video and file integration
to improve functionality and performance. Unlike conventional
switchers that take only video inputs, Slate systems can take
file inputs as well from its built-in clip and graphic stores.
With the new Watch-Folders feature, content can be sent over
a TCP/IP network from edit stations and graphic systems to
these stores for immediate access, even during the middle
of a production. New Fluent Macros can also recall specific
clip, animation and graphic files, as well as camera positions,
which enables the creation and instant play-out of complex
combinations for highly compelling productions. New Fluent
options include a 2 M/E Soft Panel, Shared Router software,
and the ability to connect Microsoft Access databases to on-air
graphics with CG Connect.
The new Slate 100 Control Panel provides entry-level Slate
100 users with a traditional switcher interface. It features
a classic preview/program switcher layout including a next
transition section for managing the systems three keyers.
There are also controls for the Slate 100's built-in CG, clip
store, graphics, and camera control systems, including a bank
of buttons that corresponds to thumbnails on the multi-view
for easy selection of digital assets and device controls.
Finally, Magic Wave Productions, Inc., a systems integrator
and event video production company based in Pleasanton, Calif.,
has created the Magic Wave Magma, a portable unit powered
by the Broadcast Pix Slate integrated production system.
Magma is being demonstrated at the Broadcast Pix booth during
InfoComm 09, and will be sold through Broadcast Pix dealers.
Magma incorporates a Broadcast Pix Slate and its Fluent workflow
software into a portable, ruggedized 45-pound package that
can be quickly set up on a table or other work surface.
