Barco wins three prestigious product awards

Barco, a global leader in visualization technology, is pleased to announce that it recently won three prestigious awards. At the Rental & Staging Systems Awards held at InfoComm last week, its NX-4 Black LED display was awarded this year's Best LED Product while its DML-1200 digital moving luminaire was awarded the Best Lighting Product. Moreover, Barco's new reference monitor for broadcasters received the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit at this year's NAB show.

The annual Rental & Staging Systems Awards, which recognize excellence in the design and production of new products, were held at InfoComm in Las Vegas last week. The awards for best new products in the rental and staging market, in which Barco's NX-4 won Best LED Product and DML-1200 won Best Lighting Product, were determined by a special Rental & Staging Systems Magazine readers' poll.

With its revolutionary Black LED, the Barco 4mm NX-4 LED display delivers the deepest black levels of any product on the market. With a brightness output of 2,000 Nit and its innovative light trap shaders, the NX-4 achieves a stunning contrast ratio of 4,000:1. Key advances in base materials, mechanical design and color processing have raised the bar of LED displays to new heights of image quality.

Built on a lightweight Mag-frame instead of the traditional box, and employing the same modular concept as the OLite, the tiles can be used in standard displays or split apart to form creative designs of any shape or form. The NX-4 is part of the NX family of indoor displays which are available in both 4 and 6mm pixel pitches.

"We are delighted to have won these two awards, " says Nico Vernieuwe, VP Events at Barco's Media and Entertainment division. "The black LED NX platform is fast becoming the industry standard for indoor LED displays because clients recognize that the impression of sharpness/resolution is not only a factor of pixel pitch but it is also greatly enhanced by the black levels/contrast of the screen. Vernieuwe continues: "The DML-1200 has also proved an enormously popular product ever since its prelaunch late last year. Lighting designers have been waiting for a product which can truly be used as both a super bright, moving light source and a high quality video projector. And with the DML-1200 they get just that."

With its brightness, unlimited image selection and the ability to instantly switch between light beam and video projection, cue by cue, the DML-1200 provides lighting designers pure creativity at their fingertips delivering a truly unique show for every event, client and purpose. With its on-board media player, lighting designers are no longer limited to static, pre-selected patterns and colors. Any image, static or animated, can be created and projected at a touch of a button. The DML-1200 uses both video and lighting protocols, including DMX512, allowing it to be driven directly from any lighting desk.
