Barco, a world leader in advanced digital
projection, is pleased to announce its collaboration with
TANDBERG, a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition
video conferencing and mobile video solutions. Both companies
have resolved to integrate their technologies to make remote
collaboration quicker, more efficient and productive through
user-friendly, ultra-high resolution tele-collaboration solutions.
Organizations that scrutinize large amounts of rich data and
collaborate in real-time among multiple locations, such as
government, oil & gas and automotive sectors, will benefit
from Barco's integration of its multi-windowing display systems
with TANDBERG's high-definition (HD) solutions. HD video conferencing
now operates within a large, widescreen Windows environment,
and allows easy mouse and keyboard control. More importantly,
users can see and interact with remote participants in full,
life-like detail while viewing data and video sources simultaneously.
"As decisions become more complex, they often involve
input from a large number of experts and data points"
says Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO. "Together with
Barco, we simplify tele-collaboration for industries that
rely on multi-site cooperation to share and review complicated
data. This collaboration-without-borders facilitates the ability
to make the right decisions faster."
Thanks to Barco's and TANDBERG's solutions, multiple desktop
applications and productivity software such as SAP can be
integrated with high-definition video to deliver complete
situational awareness. In addition, the flexibility to resize
image windows that contain rich media content allows experts
to focus on a particular scenario at any given point in a
collaboration session.
"We developed this tele-collaboration solution together
with TANDBERG, because we believe that we can render decision-making
and collaboration between remote teams more efficient,"
states Michel Vandeplas, President of Barco's Presentation
& Simulation Division. "TANDBERG's ultra high-definition
1080p video allows teams to see remote colleagues in natural,
life-like detail, and we can offer the right resolution, image
quality and ease of use to enhance this experience."
The new solution is available through an integrator package
that includes TANDBERG's C90 Telepresence Engine and high-definition
cameras, configured on a Barco display system that comes with
Barco's XDS Control Center software suite. This multi-windowing
software runs on a variety of Barco platforms, including LCD
panels, projectors and single- or multi-channel projection
systems. The latest and most impressive among these is the
XDC-3000, a single-projector ten megapixel display system
that allows its users to visualize multiple sources simultaneously
in native resolution.
This new tele-collaboration solution will be on display in
both the Barco and TANDBERG booths at InfoComm, June 18-20
in Las Vegas. The tele-collaboration solution will be available
in the third quarter 2008.
