AMX DEVELOPS PRE-PACKAGED DIGITAL SIGNAGE SOLUTIONS FOR INSPIRED SIGNAGE PRODUCT LINE

AMX extended its Inspired Signage digital signage product family today with a new line of pre-packaged solutions that eliminate custom development, providing AMX system integrators with a comprehensive and complete digital signage solution that is easier to sell and significantly faster to implement. The first product introduced in the Inspired-2-Go line is specifically tailored to the education market. Solutions for other vertical markets will be available in the future. AMX will demonstrate Inspired-2-Go Education (IS-2-GO-EDU) in booth C2902 at InfoComm 2008, being held June 18 – 20 in Las Vegas.

"As flat screen displays have become more affordable, a growing number of organizations are adopting digital signage as both a way to communicate to constituents – whether they be customers, employees or students – and generate revenue from advertising," said Robert Noble, AMX chief technology officer. "With Inspired-2-Go, integrators can quickly jump on board one of the fastest-growing sectors of the audio/video (A/V) market while administrators can implement a digital signage solution that their staff can support long term."

Inspired-2-Go Education significantly reduces the cost and turnaround time associated with initial implementation by providing pre-packaged layouts containing graphics and animations specifically designed for the K-12 and higher education markets. The layouts also enable administrators to customize and change the design and content distributed to their displays whenever they want, and with very little training – from announcements, event calendars, menus and video clips to news headlines and local weather. Because the solution is networked and enables dynamic content, organizations can share the most up-to-date information with students and staff via displays installed in cafeterias, libraries, lobby/reception areas, classrooms, student centers, break areas, gyms and stadiums.

Inspired-2-Go Education includes the following components:

Inspired Player (IS-Player-200) – A hardware and software solution that generates high-resolution images up to 1080p. The hardware is a dedicated, special purpose computer that supports VGA, DVI and S-Video. The software installed on the device renders the content that is then sent to the display.

Inspired Composer with Inspired-2-Go Layouts – A software solution that is locally installed on a user's PC that enables templates and content to be updated. It also allows content to be scheduled for distribution. The software includes 100 layouts that provide pre-defined content locations, animation/special effects and fonts that have been selected specifically with the education market in mind.
