Leading Linux-based digital signage solutions
provider 1-2-1VIEW has installed its turnkey digital signage
solution at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, one of Hong Kong's
top 5-star hotels.

The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel engaged 1-2-1VIEW to replace
a legacy system with a new digital signage system to keep
guests informed of activities in various key locations as
well as weather forecasts for the week. Using the 1-2-1VIEW's
Ninja N207 media players, the hotel's digital signage network
displays video and still images on 19 plasma and LCD screens
located prominently throughout the premises, including the
lobby area and function rooms.
The screens range from 15" to 50"
in size and function both in portrait and landscape orientations
and are capable of streaming standard definition video. The
network utilizes 1-2-1VIEW's latest software Version 3.0 featuring
an Event Entry Scheduler which enables administrators to set
validity periods for content and automatic switch back to
default images after the content expires.
"For a 5-star hotel like ours it's paramount to be able
to display up-to-date or even up-to-minute information about
what's on in our various locations instantly to ensure customers
are well informed at all times," said Billy Chiu, Information
Technology Manager for the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. "We
really needed a system that is not only reliable but also
flexible and easy to use and 1-2-1VIEW fulfilled all of our
requirements."
Designed with client needs and maximum versatility in mind,
the 1-2-1VIEW Digital Signage Management Software also connects
through a local area network to the internet to deliver live
data feeds such as weather reports, newscasts or financial
updates in a multi-zone set up.
For the project, 1-2-1VIEW collaborated with local systems
integrator Cyber-On-Air (Asia) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary
of publicly listed New World Mobility Holdings Ltd, which
provided network integration, hardware installation and service
support for the project.
