Yamaha Introduces Line of High-Performance Teleconferencing Products At InfoComm 2007

Yamaha Electronics Corporation, the innovator in home theater and digital audio and video reproduction, is exhibiting, for the first time in the U.S., a line of high performance teleconferencing solutions. The Projectphone systems leverage Yamaha’s industry-leading knowledge of audio technology, and incorporate exclusive, patented features that deliver unprecedented sound quality and realism. By identifying and tracking human voices, Projectphone solutions deliver the clear voice communication that digital conferencing demands. The groundbreaking PJP-300V, PJP-100 series and PJP-50R units will be on exhibit at the Yamaha booth (#9508) throughout the InfoComm show, June 19-21, in Anaheim, California.

In 2006, Yamaha entered the Japanese domestic market with three teleconferencing products that provided not only excellent sound quality, but achieved “telepresence,” which creates the impression that users are sitting in the same meeting room as those at the other end of the line. This high degree of telepresence is realized through Yamaha’s unique approach, which incorporates phased arrays of loudspeakers, microphones and intelligent sound processing in a small, self-contained package.

Yamaha is introducing multiple systems offering considerable versatility to address a range of needs. A video conferencing system for flat-panel displays with 16 arrayed microphones, 14 arrayed speakers and three cameras, the PJP-300V provides breakthrough audio and video quality in a sleek design. It can communicate with the network via a PC or through the optional PJP-VC1 IP Video Conference Codec. The PJP-100H is an IP audio conferencing system with built-in communication features that utilize existing networks (including broadband and corporate LAN), while the PJP-100UH is a high-performance conference microphone speaker that can be used with a Web conferencing system by connecting it directly to a PC through the USB port, or as the microphone speaker in a video conferencing system through analog audio. Each PJP-100 series system boasts 16 arrayed microphones and 12 arrayed speakers. Lastly the PJP-50R provides IP, PSTN and analog connections which fit all networks, legacy phone-lines or PCs, and 16 rounded arrayed microphone and 4 speakers.

The world’s first teleconferencing systems with integrated speaker and microphone arrays, the Projectphone systems deliver smooth two-way talk without interruption or delay. The arrayed microphones track the talkers and vanquish ambient noise, isolating only their voices and eliminating the need for additional, external microphones. The arrayed speakers project voices with stunning clarity, making them easily audible in any setting, including wide-open offices. Projectphone systems also incorporate a high-performance adaptive echo canceller to eliminate echoes, a common problem with conferencing systems.
