Turning Technologies, LLC announced today their upcoming audience response software release, TurningPoint 2008 and their new ResponseCard XR keypad. Both products mark the continued evolution of audience response technology and solidifies Turning’s stance as an innovative industry leader.
TurningPoint 2008 is the 4th generation release of Turning’s interactive PowerPoint® software. TurningPoint software, in conjunction with ResponseCard keypads, create a wireless audience response and voting system that enables educators, trainers and presenters to engage their audience as well as develop and administer real-time assessments of participants from within Microsoft® PowerPoint presentations.
New TurningPoint 2008 features include: plug and play hardware set-up, additional reporting options, and customizable save locations. TurningPoint 2008 also bundles an additional polling software, TurningPoint AnyWhere, which allows presenters to poll using content in any PC application including web browsers, PDFs, and Word documents.
TurningPoint 2008 now includes educational standards as well as approximately 30,000 standards aligned K-12 content questions for the U.S. including all fifty states and multiple other countries, which allow K-12 educators to use interactive content questions aligned to their state and subject area standards or create their own. These standards are provided by Academic Benchmarks, the leading provider of K-12 standards, alignment tools, and integration services for education service.
ResponseCard XR is Turning Technologies’ latest and most innovative response hardware currently offered. The ResponseCard XR is radio-frequency based and offers a multi-line LCD display, two-way response verification, and alphanumeric entry. Participants can also submit essay and short answer responses to interactive questions.
Educators, presenters and participants can take advantage of the XR’s self-paced assessment mode and functionality. Using ResponseCard XR keypads, students and meeting attendees can record their responses and submit their answers electronically to TestingPoint™. Educators and trainers are then able to grade assignments in seconds with a click of a button at the beginning of sessions and begin lessons or trainings knowing which key concepts should be reviewed and clarified, saving hundreds of administrative hours a year.
Other features of the new ResponseCard XR keypad include the largest storage capacity of any keypad on the market, participant self-registration, channel number and battery life indicator, easy programming and registration and USB port for firmware updates.
