NCast Announces Telepresenter M3 Series 2

NCast, a leading developer of Multimedia Production Appliances, today announced the release of its new Telepresenter™ M3-Series 2.  The Series 2 brings increased performance and capacity and important new features to the Telepresenter M3.  From a performance perspective, the Series 2 extends the M3 graphics resolution to 1920x1200 (WUXGA), for both input and output, and the HD capture resolution from 720p to 1080i.  The frame rate has also been increased by 50% to 100%, allowing 1080i or WUXGA capture at a full 30 FPS.

The new features of Series 2 include the ability to upload pre-composed templates, allowing customers to centralize and better manage the creation of presentation layouts; the implementation of a scheduler based upon Google™ Calendar allowing customers to start and stop an unlimited number of Telepresenters around the world on schedule, and enhanced FTP push and announce utilities.  ““The Series 2 pushes the envelope with a powerful combination of true HD encoding and affordability.” says Chris Zaloumis, Director of Product Management for NCast. “We are also excited about being the first in industry to implement a scheduler that provides compatibility with Google Calendar and ultimately the iCalendar standard.  This upgrade to the Telepresenter platform positions it to be the interaction-free Appliance we have envisioned.”

The Telepresenter™ M3 is a multimedia capture appliance that allows anyone to make, store, and distribute high-resolution multimedia files with minimal interaction.  Ideal for applications such as Lecture Capture, Distance Learning, and Telepresentation, the M3, uses PiP for video-in-graphics or graphics-in-video.  Using the M3, you can:

The Telepresenter M3™ is easy to use.  Simply attach RGB (laptop, document camera, etc), DVI, video, and/or audio sources into the back of the M3.  These signals will be automatically detected, combined into a PiP (Picture in Picture) format, encoded as an MPEG-4 file, and made available for streaming, recording and collaborating.  By using pre-defined templates, scheduling, and FTP push, no operator is required and no lecturer intervention is necessary.  Priced at under $10,000, the M3 is one of the industry’s most cost effective solutions for Lecture Capture.
