Magenta to Exhibit New Cat5 Transmitter Models at InfoComm

May 29, 2007

Source: Magenta Research

Magenta Research, the recognized leader in video, audio and serial signal distribution and switching over UTP cable and fiber, announces that it will be exhibiting two new Cat5 transmitter models at InfoComm ’07 in Anaheim, California, June 19-21.

The first transmitter is an option for Magenta’s Mondo Matrixä, the Cat5 full-matrix switcher that is scaleable from 16x16 to 256x256.  The switcher, popular in casino and command-and-control applications, now offers Mondo Direct™ input cards, enabling video, audio or serial signals to be connected directly from their sources.

Each Mondo Direct™ card carries inputs for 16 sources, delivering video plus audio or serial to a Mondo Matrix. This solution has a built-in Cat5 transmitter, eliminating the need for stand-alone MultiView™ Series transmitters, removes UTP cable input lengths, reduces rack space and lowers installation labor costs.

Mondo Direct™ cards incorporate Magenta’s proprietary MultiView technology, allowing any type of analog video — RGBHV, component, RGsB, HDTV including 1080P, S-video or composite — with audio or serial, to be distributed 1-1500 feet from a source with superior image quality and reliability.

The second new Cat5 transmitter is the MultiViewä STx, a lower-cost, yet powerful model that combined with MultiView Series receivers, hubs and switchers, distributes high-resolution video plus audio, 1 to 1500 feet (457 meters) from the source.  Distance capability is a function of the associated MultiView receiver – 250, 500, 1000 or 1500 feet.  Supported video types include 1080P high definition, QXGA (2048x1536), 1366x768, component, S-video and composite.  Despite its value price, the MultiView STx transmitter includes the same high-performance, high-reliability features of the MultiView Series, and is suitable for harsh environments in a variety of dynamic signage and command-and-control environments.

Randy Young, Magenta’s Director of Marketing, commented, “The MultiView STx and Mondo Direct input cards give integrators two more options for Cat5 transmission, both of which reduce costs while maintaining the performance and reliability for which we’re known.  Magenta’s philosophy is to continue to develop and enhance the product lines to make applications easier and more cost-effective.”
