Thomson Demonstrates Powerful / Affordable HDAnd IPTV Workflows At InfoComm 07

Thomson will demonstrate a number of its Grass Valley™ technologies and systems at the InfoComm 07 conference that help audiovisual professionals deliver the highest quality and visually effective productions for their clients. This includes a variety of automated media management tools, high-quality A/V switching products, a real-time HD editing system, and multi-channel digital media recorders and servers. The ProAV industry’s largest tradeshow will be held June 15-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

On the InfoComm exhibit floor (booth #6125), Grass Valley will highlight the Indigo™ AV Mixer, which combines features normally found in high-quality video production switchers, presentation mixers, and audio mixers. Designed for Pro AV applications, the Indigo provides video up- and down-conversion, the ability to mix in high-resolution PC graphics from any DVI-I source, advanced audio mixing, and automated device playback and control via industry-standard connections.

For live multimedia productions, the Turbo™ iDDR (intelligent digital disk recorder) will be shown performing tasks in a typical workflow employed by corporate, university, and government media centers, live events and staging companies, houses of worship, and other Pro AV users.

Also featured is the MediaEdge3 server for digital signage applications. The MediaEdge server allows users to stream high-quality SD and HD content over their IP network. And, through the use of open APIs and a standards-based platform, they can do this without a significant reinvestment in infrastructure.

For those involved in HD craft editing, the Grass Valley EDIUS® (version 4.5) HD nonlinear editing system will be on display; with support for a number of progressive HD formats, built-in simple DVD authoring, built-in ProCoder format converter technology, and a new user interface that makes editing more intuitive and faster. EDIUS version 4.5 is a free upgrade for all EDIUS version 4.0 users.
