Personal Video Recorders Enable HDTV On The Go
June 12, 2007
Source: Gefen
Small, convenient and simple to operate, two new Personal Video Recorders from Gefen make an appearance at InfoComm.
These useful little tools not only record audio and video from televisions and camcorders, they offer a plug and method of downloading the recorded video onto any USB dongle or storage device.
You simply unplug the dongle and take it with you, plugging into any computer to view your video on one of many free media players that exist for computer systems.
Two different models are currently in development: one that works with high definition video and one that works with standard definition video.
Both work with all USB storage devices, are based on MPEG 4 formats and are cross-platform in computer compatibility.
Preferences and controls are accessed through an intuitive on-screen menu that guides the user.
Because the Gefen Personal Video Recorders offer two video inputs for recording, each model offers built-in switching functionality, allowing the user to switch between sources. This is an especially useful feature if you want to have a constant connection with your television set, for example, while connecting a camcorder as needed.
Demos will be given in Gefen's booth throughout InfoComm - Booth # 6237
