Focus Enhancements to Showcase HD Video on Demand at InfoComm 2007

Focus Enhancements Inc., a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, today announced plans to offer a feature-rich standard and high definition Video on Demand (VOD) system that works with the ProxSys family of media servers. A working technology demo will be showcased at InfoComm 2007 in Anaheim, California, June 19 -21.
“ProxSys uniquely supports both signal and file-based media exporting, which makes it well aligned to the new broadcast model of multiple content delivery choices,” said Michael Conway, senior vice president of corporate strategy for Focus Enhancements. “We are pleased to be showing feature-rich video on demand that expands both our Media Management and Media Delivery product families.”
ProxSys Video on Demand features include:
- Distribution of live or stored media from ProxSys Media Server to dedicated set top boxes via UDP Multicast
- Full integration of HTML content; live UDP streams can be easily embedded into HTML
- Microsoft PowerPoint on demand support with independent client slideshow control
- Server-side DVD playback
- Transport, program and elementary stream support
- File containers include, WMV, AVI, Raw DV, and FLV (Macromedia Flash)
- File formats include, MPEG 1/2, H.264, DIVX, MJPEG
- Optional television receiver for set top boxes (cable, analog, DVB-S, DVB-T, 8-VSB)
The ProxSys Media Server Video on Demand system will be shown along with other Focus Enhancements’ award-winning HD products at Infocomm, booth #6400.
Pricing and availability is expected to be announced at a future date. The ProxSys Video on Demand system will be available through Focus Enhancements’ worldwide dealer and distributor network.
