Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, S.D. will debut the second generation of the ProTour® PT-10 modular LED (light emitting diode) display panel at InfoComm 2007, June 19-21st at the Anaheim Convention Center , Booth #6243, in Anaheim, Calif.
“After consulting with our end users, we were able to fine-tune our existing product to best suit the needs of our customers,” said Jay deBlonk, Daktronics ProTour® Product Manager. “The new design provides an extremely versatile system that can be used either indoors or outdoors.”
The ProTour® modular display system, first introduced in 2004, is suitable for touring events, sporting events, conventions, expositions—any instance where a display is moved regularly. PT-10, in its next generation, features 10 mm line spacing. The panel uses a new high-bright 3-in-1 SMD (surface mount device) LED to provide a high contrast ratio for blacker blacks and better shadow detail. A unique louver design, developed to accommodate creative configurations, provides an enhanced viewing angle, free of color shift. The PT-10 also includes additional weather-proofing mechanisms.
The PT-10 LED display panel capitalizes on the same trusted technology and design behind the original product. Capable of displaying images in 4.4 trillion colors, the rugged architecture allows for flexible configuration of displays of any size or shape. Redundant panel-to-panel signal optimizes system reliability and display diagnostics provides active monitoring of display operation and troubleshooting support.
The superior control capabilities of the V-Tour® event controller combined with the V-Link® LED video processor complete the ProTour® system. The V-Tour® event controller compliments the ProTour® display system by featuring WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) management of display arrangements; image and brightness settings; video zone layouts; and diagnostic functions. The V-Link® processor accepts live video feeds and enhances those signals to ensure true-to-life image reproduction on any ProTour® display.
Daktronics will also showcase the HD-4 model of its new HD-X product line at InfoComm 2007. Released this spring, this high-resolution video display provides more full-color lines of resolution in the same screen area than comparable technology currently available in the marketplace. Coupled with its enhanced viewing angles and SD and HD compatibility, the HD-X product represents the future of large-screen video.
