APC Unveils the ProAV Rack

American Power Conversion (APC), a global provider of critical power and cooling services, introduces the APC ProAV Rack for the professional AV industry. Offering one of the most progressive feature sets available in a vendor-neutral rack environment, APC’s NetShelter product line supports a variety of products, including APC’s comprehensive line of rack-mountable UPS power management solutions, ranging from 250VA to 16kVA.

Based on APC’s innovative NetShelter line — which features advanced cooling, power distribution, and cable management — the APC ProAV Rack allows designers and integrators to maximize the utilization of valuable floor space by offering a flexible, progressive, non-proprietary feature-set as well as an extensive line of scalable accessories to address current needs and adapt to future technology trends.

Catering to the professional AV market, the 42U enclosure is 42 inches deep, and boasts mounting rails with 10-32 threaded holes. Fully adjustable front and rear mounting rails with threaded holes allow a wide range of AV equipment mounting options while utilizing the industry preferred 10-32 fasteners.  Vertical cable channels in the rear of the enclosure provide dedicated space and tool-less mounting for power distribution units and vertical cable management.

The APC ProAV Rack incorporates convenient split side panels, and space-saving split rear doors for easy access to installed equipment. Perforated front and rear doors help maximize air flow to cool critical components, an important element given increasing heat densities in professional AV installations. Properly cooling installed equipment helps increase a product’s life cycle and reduce intrusive service calls.

The APC ProAV Rack features a rear cable channel that works with APC’s cable management accessories to increase ease of organization and optimization of the system installation. Other accessories like APC’s 1U LCD keyboard, mouse, and monitor allow AV integrators to offer clients a comprehensive suite of solutions that are easily installed and help streamline equipment support and maintenance.

The APC ProAV Rack is currently available in North America by special order and carries an estimated resale price of $1,699.
